In 1946, the Hohenlohe family acquired Finca Santa Margarita,
120,000 sqm of olive trees and vines, this "cortijo" was to be their private
residence. Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe was keen on architecture and landscaping
and over the years the house was gradually enlarged.
It was the Prince's dream to transform his family's residence into an exclusive
club. This dream was eventually realized in the form of the Marbella Club
as we know it today. An epitome of luxury and classic good taste, the Marbella
Club is one of "The Leading Small Hotels of the World", and effortlessly
retains its emblematic status.
