The second episode of the Technicolour Travel Series heads to Tarifa — a rugged, bohemian meeting point between two continents, where Atlantic winds collide with Mediterranean calm. Shaped by centuries of crossings, from Phoenicians, Romans and Moors to today's windsurfers, nomads and creatives, we explore a destination that moves to its own rhythm — through wild beaches and dunes, local flavours, hidden gems and the Marbella Club's outposts at El Mirlo and Villa Punta Paloma — revealing Tarifa as technicolour in motion.
The pilot episode of Technicolour traces the origins of the Marbella Club and the city of Marbella — from Prince Alfonso's 1950s vision and the birth of a new hospitality era, to a destination shaped by layered history, La Concha's luminous landscape, and everyday cultural rituals — revealing Marbella as a place where heritage, nature, and creativity converge in vivid technicolour.
Co-founder of Assouline Publishing, Prosper Assouline is a collector and storyteller whose world is shaped by culture, travel, and a deep appreciation for form and meaning. Born in Morocco and raised in France, his perspective is enriched by heritage, curiosity, and a lasting connection to Andalucía, where he finds both inspiration and a sense of belonging.
Co-founder of Rianna + Nina, Rianna Kounou is a designer and creative force whose world is defined by bold expression, nostalgia, and a love of objects with soul. Rooted in a richly multicultural background and shaped by a life immersed in travel, community and vintage discovery, Rianna is a walking and talking definition of Technicolour. Through her work, she transforms memory and material into pieces that celebrate individuality, joy, and the art of dressing as storytelling.
Journalist, author, writer and historian, Nicholas Foulkes is a long-time friend of the Marbella Club and both a participant in and chronicler of its colourful world. A keen observer of people, style and the mythology of place, he has spent years capturing Marbella's many layers — from the characters and stories of the hotel's early days to the destination it has become today.
